How I Practice

I'm a Naturopathic Doctor and Craniosacral Practitioner in Portland, Oregon, with a special interest in supporting mental and emotional health, including anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADHD, thyroid health, hormone concerns, nervous system dysregulation, and blood sugar balance. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized—I strive to understand each person as a whole, rather than focusing only on symptoms or diagnoses.

Much of my work centers around the nervous system and the ways stress, overwhelm, trauma, nutrition, sleep, and lifestyle patterns can affect both physical and emotional wellbeing. I believe healing happens most effectively when people feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care.

Depending on the individual, treatment may include counseling support, craniosacral therapy, nutrition, nutraceuticals, botanical medicine, movement recommendations, lifestyle support, and medications when appropriate. Every treatment plan is individualized to support each person's unique goals, health concerns, and nervous system.

While my practice focuses primarily on naturopathic mental health, nervous system support, and craniosacral therapy, I also provide integrative naturopathic care for adults seeking a whole-person approach to health.

Nutrition is often an important part of my work, though I don't believe there is one "best" way to eat for everyone. Instead, I help people identify the foods and habits that best support their unique body, health goals, and lifestyle. I believe healthy eating should feel nourishing and sustainable rather than rooted in deprivation or rigidity, and I encourage a balanced and enjoyable relationship with food.

My Path to Naturopathic Medicine

My connection to naturopathic medicine began with my own healing journey almost twenty years ago. I began seeing a naturopathic physician for chronic health issues that hadn't been resolved through other approaches, and the experience was transformative. I began to understand the connections between food, blood sugar, energy, movement, lifestyle, and how I felt in my day-to-day life, and found a sense of balance and well-being that I hadn't known before. The impact went far beyond the physical - it was mental, emotional, and spiritual, changing how I experienced myself, how I interacted with the world, and ultimately how it felt to inhabit my own body and life. Over time, the principles of naturopathic medicine became so deeply woven into how I lived and understood health that becoming a naturopathic doctor began to feel like a natural extension of the life I was already living.

In the twenty years before becoming a naturopathic doctor, I explored many different career paths, including several in health and healing. What kept drawing me back to naturopathic medicine was both my own personal healing experience and the breadth that naturopathic medicine offers - the ability to draw from a wide range of approaches depending on what each person needs. I went back to school and graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2023, followed by several years of deepening my clinical experience through mentorship and working alongside other doctors. That path helped shape the kind of doctor I wanted to be and the kind of practice I wanted to create. In 2026, that vision became Inner Tides Integrative Medicine.

Beyond the Office

I'm a lifelong singer and musician, with music taking many forms throughout my life. My most recent passion is Brazilian music, including singing in Portuguese and playing Brazilian percussion. I also speak Spanish and love languages, travel, art, reading, movies, cooking and baking, and being outdoors - hiking, cycling, swimming, yoga, and scuba diving. I'm originally from Massachusetts, spent about 20 years in Colorado, and now call Portland home.

Before becoming a doctor, I explored many different career paths, working in elementary education, social work, writing, nonprofits, massage therapy, teaching yoga, and more, and earning a master's degree in education along the way. Looking back, I can see how much each experience built upon the ones before it, shaping both the person and physician I eventually became. Finding my way to naturopathic medicine was as much a personal journey as it was a professional one, bringing together many of the interests and experiences that shaped me along the way.
